Huairou (50MeV) proton cyclotron facility successfully delivered beams

On July 17, the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences launched the space radiation effect analysis test platform and the Huairou proton cyclotron facility (hrpcf) test run under the support of the first batch of cross research platform project -“space science satellite series and payload development and test support platform” in Huairou Science City, Beijing, Protons with an energy of about 30MeV were introduced and transferred to the experimental terminal of the experimental hall, and a beam of 2na/cm2 was obtained on a fluorescent target with a diameter of 15cm, as shown in Figure 1, laying the foundation for the subsequent full interview operation.

Hrpcf facilities are mainly composed of main magnet, main coil, high-frequency system, vacuum system, ion source and injection line, beam pipeline, control system and dose monitoring and safety interlock system. The complete layout is shown in Figure 2. The operation service of this facility can provide important simulation experimental support for the research, development and application of photoelectric and linear device displacement damage effect, low orbit spacecraft single particle effect, solar cell radiation damage effect, astronaut safety assurance and space biology research biological radiation effect related to space science, technology and application in China.
