The new standard for surface water will be implemented soon! New changes in pollutant detection?

With the implementation of the monitoring mode of”automatic monitoring first and manual monitoring second”, the monitoring capacity and automatic early warning level of surface water environment in China have been continuously improved, and a number of supporting surface water monitoring standards have been revised.

In May, 2022, the Ministry of ecology and environment issued the technical specification for environmental quality monitoring of surface water (HJ 91.2-2022), which is applicable to the manual monitoring of surface water quality in rivers, lakes, reservoirs and channels, and supports the implementation of the environmental quality standard for surface water (GB 3838-2002), which will be implemented on August 1, 2022.

What has been revised?

The technical specification for environmental quality monitoring of surface water (HJ 91.2-2022) is revised for the first time and is applicable to manual monitoring of water environmental quality of surface water such as rivers, lakes, reservoirs and channels.

Compared with technical code for surface water and sewage monitoring (hj/t 91-2002),This standard specifies the on-site pretreatment method for total phosphorus monitoring, and improves the distribution and sampling, monitoring items and analysis methods, monitoring data processing, quality assurance and quality control, etcTo further standardize the manual monitoring of surface water environmental quality and support the implementation of the environmental quality standard for surface water (GB 3838-2002).

Automatically monitor the market and reproduce the”new space”

In May, 2019, the Ministry of ecology and environment issued the ranking scheme for water environment quality of national surface water assessment sections of cities at and above the prefecture level (for Trial Implementation), which proposed that in order to give full play to the backward force of ranking the water environment quality of national surface water assessment sections of cities, all cities at and above the prefecture level with national surface water assessment sections should be ranked.

Since the 14th five year plan, the integrated monitoring mode with automation as the main and manual as the auxiliary has been put into practice all over the country.

The”fourteenth five year plan” for ecological environment monitoring proposes to carry out integrated monitoring with automation as the main and manual as the auxiliary to support the national water environment quality assessment, ranking and assessment. Accurate and timely automatic monitoring data will act on the ranking of cities.

At the same time, the outline of the ecological environment monitoring plan (2020-2035) puts forward the requirements for establishing 9+n automatic monitoring capability, that is, on the basis of conventional 9 parameters, the characteristic indicators such as chemical oxygen demand, five-day biochemical oxygen demand, anion and cation, heavy metals, organic matter, and water ecological comprehensive toxicity are added.

It is not difficult to see that the market of on-line water quality monitoring instruments will usher in new growth.
